
Lisbon street art
Street art is a big feature of Lisbon, as we saw the minute we arrived at our site. All across the city, walls large and small are adorned with incredible artwork. Here are some we spotted.

This bee was created by Bordalo II, an artist who uses ‘waste’ to create artworks
We actually watched as a new piece of his was installed! This is near the base of the Elevador de Santa Justa and is of two storks, birds who would soon be our neighbours 🙂

Caitríona: I never saw this myself, but Bordalo also had a piece in on George’s Quay in Dublin, near Tara Street DART station – a red squirrel. But it was removed in 2019 by developers prior to the agreed date, so Bordalo was unable to remove it for reinstallation elsewhere, as had been the plan. Sheesh….
