Praia do Carvalho

Praia Carvalho is another stunner of a beach. It involves trekking a bit of a distance along a clifftop path, then down lots of steps. Once you reach the cliff above the beach, you make your way down though a tunnel in the cliff to arrive on the beach. It’s a spectacular journey and the destination is so worth the bit of effort.

By the way, in Portuguese, the ‘h’ is pronounced like we would say an ‘i’ in English, so Carvalho is pronounced ‘Carvalio’.

You see those people on the cliff top on the left? It must be up on YouTube by now – they jumped off that cliff loads of times, with cameras, sometimes synchronised diving, sometimes one filming the other. Here’s the clip Saul managed to capture:
