Walks in the Silves countryside

Hey everybody.  We hope you are safe and well. These are increasingly worrying times for us all.

Some lighthearted pics and updates here for you to ignore or read through as suits you 🧡

Our situation is ever-changing.  We are still in the campsite in Silves, but it’s the only one left open in this area. The Portuguese Government decreed yesterday that all campsites must shut, but the police locally here have told our site’s management that we may stay – we hope this continues. Many vans have left to make a dash up through Spain, France, to their home countries. It’s a big risk. Some are let through the borders, some are turned back (and then can’t get back into the site they left) and some are forced to quarantine for 14 days at each border on the route home.

So, we have opted to stay put and hope to ride it out in self isolation on this site.

We are permitted to leave the site by foot to take a walk (which we do in the direction of the countryside, rarely passing anyone) but this evening the police were out with megaphones telling everyone to go home, so it looks like heading towards full lockdown.

That’s the situation for now. We remain well, we have support here (the site manager is fantastic), we have plenty of supplies and access to water and electricity.  One day at a time…

Anyone know what birdsong this is?
